The Broncos and Warriors have been unable to come away with a win up at Brisbane in a game where both sides dominated for large chunks of the match, which finished 18-all in front of more than 31,000 fans.
The Warriors looked to be the better side in the first half, despite the fact that the Broncos opened the scoring in just the 6th minute when Payne Haas ambled onto a ball, brushed off one feeble tackle attempt, stepped through another and stormed over to score under the posts. Jamayne Isaako converted.
Five minutes later the Warriors struck back via an attack down the short side, Kodi Nikorima run then dished the ball to Adam Blair who dummied and ran 20 metres to score in the left corner. Issac Luke was unable to convert.
The Warriors then set about exploiting the weak and inexperienced Broncos defence on the right side and in the 20th minute and just 10 metres out from the Broncos line, went right to Blake Green, who stopped and then came back to the left, passed to Luke who burst through a gap and scored a clever try under the posts. Luke then converted.
12 minutes later and the Warriors scored again. This time Green drifted right, linked with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck who skipped, drew the defender then flicked the ball to Peta Hiku, who then dishes the ball to David Fusitua and the big winger dived over for a good try. Luke nailed the sideline conversion.
The second half started much like the first, with an early Broncos try, when a grubber by Anthony Milford bounced horribly for Luke, who fumbles it and Darius Boyd following through pounced on the loose ball to score. Kotoni Staggs converted.
The Broncos crossed again in the 65th minute thanks to a brilliant solo effort by David Fifita. He received the ball on the right side, but seeing no options to his right, decides to run back to the left and into the middle. He stepped off his right three times to evade tackles, then bust through the line to score a brilliant solo try. Staggs again converted to give the Broncos a 2 point lead.
With 6 minutes left in the game, the Warriors looked to have scored but a small knock-on was found in the lead-up. After the next play, Pangai illegally stripped the ball and was penalised. Luke kicked a penalty goal to level the scores, which sent the game into Golden Point.
The first 5 minutes of extra time saw Nikorima miss two field goal attempts, while Segeyaro and Milford missed a shot each. The second half of extra time saw Nikorima and Milford have another miss each, resulting in an 18 all draw.
