Sydney Roosters v Gold Coast Titans

The Titans were blown away by the Roosters, who racked up the points in a huge 58-6 flogging of a woeful Gold Coast outfit at the SCG.

In the fifth minute Angus Crichton made a bust up the middle before getting a stunning offload away to James Tedesco, who was backing up, and he raced away to score under the posts. Latrell Mitchell converted.

Four minutes later the Roosters attacked down the right side, where Joseph Manu shrugged off a few tackles before passing to Brett Morris, who evaded a defender and worked his way over the line for his 150th NRL try. Mitchell's sideline conversion was an absolute peach.

In the 18th minute Brett Morris crossed again. Tedesco sent a magnificent catch and pass to Morris who ran away to score in the right corner. Mitchell failed to convert this time.

Three minutes later and Morris had his third try after Luke Keary's grubber to the right corner found Morris flying through and he grounded the ball. Mitchell's sideline conversion was again spot on.

With 5 minutes left in the half, the Roosters scored again, when Mitchell, with a lovely catch and pass, gave Daniel Tupou enough space to slip down the sideline and score in the left corner. Mitchell again added the extras, this time from the left sideline.

The Titans looked more committed to start the second half, but they weren't able to contain the Roosters for too long. In the 52nd minute Victor Radley was put into space, before he drew the fullback and passed to Tedesco in support yet again and the fullback raced away to score his second try. Mitchell added the extras from almost in front.

Five minutes later and the Roosters were in again with another milestone try. A stunning last tackle play on the left hand short side where Cooper Cronk received the ball, switched back to the left to Luke Keary, who then passed back inside to Victor Radley, who drew the defender and passed to Cronk who dived over for his 100th career try.

From the restart the Roosters worked their way upfield with ease before Tedesco got a good ball to Mitchell and the classy centre threw a dummy before racing away to score a try, which he then converted.

The Titans finally got on the scoreboard in the 65th minute when Ryley Jacks switched direction with an inside ball to Phillip Sami, who then got it back to Jacks in space and he dived over to score under the posts. Ash Taylor converted.

The Roosters brought up 50 in the 72nd minute when Tedesco sent a pass out to the left that was meant for Tupou, but Mitchell plucked it out of the air from above his head and waltzes over for an easy try. He added the extras once more.

On the stroke of fulltime the Roosters added a final try when Sam Verrills showed his cards early - he wanted a try from dummy half, he stepped right and left looking for an opening in the Titans goal line defence before eventually finding it, diving over to score near the posts. Mitchell converted for a personal haul of 26 points.
