Parramatta Eels v Brisbane Broncos

Parramatta dominated field position, controlled the ball well and picked apart the Broncos defence at will to record a huge 58-0 shutout win in their Elimination Final at Bankwest Stadium over a dismal Broncos outfit.

After dominating field position and growing possession, Parramatta finally broke through with points in the 12th minute when a Mitchell Moses kick from the right edge back towards the posts found Michael Jennings flying through and juggle the ball before catching it and falling over the line for a try near the posts. Moses converted.

In the 15th minute Moses had a shot at a penalty goal but the relatively easy shot was missed.

Two minutes later Moses puts in a grubber for himself, got a favourable bounce, regathered and scored to the right of the posts. He converted his own try.

A kick from the centre to the left by Dylan Brown was retained by the Eels just 5 minutes later. Waqa Blake received a pass and flicked it out to Blake Ferguson, who picked it up off the bounce and then stepped inside the cover defender to score in the right corner. Moses failed to convert.

In the 32nd minute Moses had the ball to the right at first receiver, sent a long ball to the left to Dylan Brown, who got it onto Shaun Lane. Lane then dished it to Jennings who then offloaded back to Lane and the big back rower forced his way over in the left corner between two defenders. Moses' sideline conversion attempt hit the upright and was waved away.

Right on halftime the Eels ran in for another try when Moses changed the direction of play again, back to the left, where quick hands got the ball from Lane to Jennings and onto Maika Sivo, who set sail down the wing, juggled the ball and then dived over in the left corner for a try. Moses again failed to convert from touch.

The Eels party continued 8 minutes after play resumed when Sivo bagged his second try thanks to a glorious long pass from Clint Gutherson that cut-out two players. Moses failed to convert from touch.

Five minutes later saw Gutherson split the Broncos defence right through the middle. He then passed inside to Dylan Brown backing up and he scored untouched under the posts. Moses added the two.

Fifteen minutes followed where the Broncos started to get some field position, but they didn't worry the Eels defence. The last ten minutes of the game though saw Parramatta run away with the game.

In the 70th minute Tepai Moeroa stepped out of a tackle, spun out of another and then burrowed over the line for a strong try. Moses converted.

In the 73rd minute Moses receives a great ball from Reed Mahoney and ran through a big hole to dive over for a try. He converted his try.

In the 76th minute Dylan Brown caught his own chip kick and scored under the posts to bring up 50 points. Moses converted.

On the stroke of fulltime, Daniel Alvaro took a crash ball and fell over the line next to the posts for a soft try. Manu Ma'u converts to give Parramatta the highest score and biggest winning margin by a team since the competition began in 1908.

The Eels head to Melbourne on Saturday night where they'll face the Storm in an elimination semi final - the winner of which faces reigning premiers the Roosters a week later at the SCG. The Broncos will spend five months licking their wounds ahead of season 2020.
