Souths have a host of changes from Tuesday's named squad. Jacob Host and Taane Milne come out of the 17. Cody Walker moves to fullback, Dean Hawkins come into the halves to partner Marshall. Johnston moves to the wing, Marsters into the centres and Gagai to the other wing. Jed Cartwright fills the vacant spot on the interchange with Hame Sele as 18th man.

Melbourne have Tom Eisenhuth out with a groin complaint. Chris Lewis replaces him on the pine with Dean Ieremia 18th man. There's also a reshuffle with Harry Grant switching back to the bench, Brandon Smith hooker and Tui Kamikamica starting lock.
