The Titans and Warriors played out one of the worst games of the year, but in the end, the Titans won 44-0 - their biggest ever margin - to finish 8th and make the finals, knocking the Sharks out of the finals race in the process.
The Warriors very nearly scored in the first minute when Marcelo Montoya caught a bomb and then got a pass to Euan Aitken who very nearly scored, but the knee of Philip Sami bumped the ball free.
The first points came in the 6th minute when Jayden Campbell jumped into dummy half 13 metres from the Warriors line, ran himself, grubbered and just hung onto the ball to score a great solo try next to the left upright. Jamal Fogarty converted.
Reece Walsh with a good tackle denied Tyron Peachey a try in the 9th minute. Tino Fa'asuamaleaui dropped the ball just short of the tryline 6 minutes later.
In the 20th minute Mitch Rein at dummy half, dived over to score a trademark hookers try. Fogarty converted.
In the final 10 minutes of the half, Jayden Campbell made a break and ran 50 metres before Walsh tackled him. On the next play, the Titans went left to Peachey who changed direction, drifted right before sending a long ball to the right to David Fifita who dived over in the right corner. Fogarty's sideline conversion hit the upright and was waved away. AT halftime, the Titans held a 16-0 win over a Warriors side that had struggled to complete a set through a combination of ill-discipline and poor handling.
Within the first minute after the resumption of play, Fifita got into dummy half and barged over for a clever try. Fogarty again converted.
The Warriors very nearly scored in the 47th minute, however the final pass to Dallin Watene-Zelezniak was ruled forward.
In the 52nd minute the Titans shifted left to Peachey who ran to the line before linking with Campbell, whose catch and pass to Kelly put him into space and he dived over to score in the corner. Fogarty converted from touch.
A scuffle in the 64th minute lead to Jazz Tevaga getting sin binned for running in to get involved. A minute later another scuffle ensued and this time, the referee sent Matt Lodge, Kane Evans and Jarrod Wallace all to the sin bin. The Titans were reduced to 12 while the Warriors were down to 10 players.
With all the red mist removed from the field, the Titans went right where Campbell sent Patrick Herbert over the line for an easy try in the corner. Fogarty's sideline conversion is well wide of the mark.
Three minutes later another Warriors dropped ball was picked up by Peachey who passes to Fogarty who quickly sent it to Campbell who then ran 70 metres to score untouched under the posts. Fogarty added the extras.
The Titans scored once more in the final 2 minutes when Herbert put in a kick 10 metres inside the Warriors half and Moeaki Fotuaika chased it down and scored a good try. Fogarty converted.
