Town - freshly promoted to the second tier - managed to take a 6-4 halftime lead thanks to Barnes' try, but the second half was one-way traffic, with a three-try burst in ten minutes mid-way through the half ensuring the Thunder took home the first win of the season 20-6.

A hard-fought contest at Craven Park saw the Raiders take a halftime lead of 18-10. No tries were scored after the break, with a couple of Ryan Shaw penalty goals edging the hosts two converted tries ahead for a 22-10 victory.

Batley did fantastically well to fight back from a 16-6 deficit at the break, restricting Fax to just a solitary penalty goal in the second half and scoring 24 points themselves to record a 12-point victory, 30-18.

A dominating eight-try win from Bradford who never really looked challenged by the Rams. The Bulls led 22-6 at the break and went on with the job in the second half, Kieran Gill grabbing a double.

A quad-effort from Ryan Ince saw Widnes easily account for the Broncos at their new Plough Lane home. Widnes led 24-4 at the halftime break - Ince scoring two first half tries - before continuing their dominance in the second half for a 34-12 win.

Monday night football kicked off for 2022 at a boisterous York Community Stadium, but it was the travelling Rovers fans who went home happy after a 30-12 win to wrap up the opening round. Fev were up 12-6 at halftime before a flurry of points in the 15 minutes after the break saw them build an unassailable 24-6 lead.
