St Helens triumphed 25-0 despite being reduced to 11-men at one point against Huddersfield Giants on Friday night.
The Saints maintain their four-point gap on Wigan Warriors and stretch their advantage on third place Huddersfield Giants to seven points headed into the final stretch.
The hosts had to work for the points after the early dismissal of Peter Mata'utia for a dangerous tackle although Saints posted first points still through Joe Batchelor.
It was a scrappy game with both teams missing chances to put on points including both Jonny Lomax and Will Pryce missing from the tee in the first 40.
St Helens pushed through with more points when Agnatius Pa'asi and fullback Jack Welsby crossed the whitewash alongside a Lomax penalty goal to make it 18-0.
They were reduced to 11-men for the final ten minutes when Morgan Knowles was shown a yellow card for a professional foul but that didn't deter the Saints.
Lomax added the fourth try of the contest when he supported a break from Welsby to dive over in front of the home faithful for 24-0.
Welsby rounded off the night with a field goal to make the advantage 25 then Huddersfield Giants had a late score chalked off to Pryce in a wild evening of rugby league.
