Sydney to host 2022 NRL Grand Final

The ARLC is has confirmed Sydney's Accor Stadium as the venue for the 2022 NRL and NRLW Grand Finals.

The match is set to be played on Sunday 2 October. Normally at Accor Stadium in Sydney, it was hosted in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium in 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The commission met on Wednesday to decide the venue, with conjecture over the future of the event in Sydney due to a stadium funding stoush with the NSW Government.

The QLD government meanwhile expressed interest to lure the lucrative event north of the border once more.

The ARLC held a Thursday afternoon press conference to confirm the NSW Government's last-ditch bid had won out and that the showpiece event would return to Accor Stadium in 2023.
