The Wigan Warriors have won their third straight match downing the Leigh Leopards 34-6 in a convincing display to kick off Round 7.
It was Leigh who kicked off the scoring in the seventh minute of play. Tom Briscoe was able to finish off a nice movement down the left-hand side to set the home side up with a 6-0 lead. However, it was all one way traffic for the rest of this encounter.
It appeared the Warriors were up against it when Jacob Wardle was sin binned, but six minutes later, Bevan French finished off a set play to slice through the defence. Eight minutes later, Jai Field showcased his strength to finish off a movement and Wigan led 10-6 at half-time.
Five minutes after the resumption, Wardle atoned for his earlier sins when he finished off a Bevan French break following a kick which was charged down. Nine minutes later, Abbas Miski crossed for the first of his two tries when he had enough pace to beat the cover to stroll over in the left corner.
Field would add a second try just before the hour mark when he sliced through some would be tacklers to effectively seal the match. Two more Wigan tries through Toby King and Miski concluded a thorough hiding in the derby match.

Hull Kingston Rovers have secured a 20-12 triumph over Leeds Rhinos in their Round 7 clash at Craven Park.
Ireland international Louis Senior crossed for the first try just shy of the 25 minute mark after a bomb from Jordan Abdull was allowed to bounce and Senior gathered to touch down to cross with Lachlan Coote's conversion stretching the advantage to 8-0.
Rovers continued to add to their advantage when another Abdull grubber caused confusion at the back for the Rhinos. From there, Sauaso Sue was jolly on the spot to collect their second try and what would be a sizable 14-0 advantage at half-time.
Leeds' start to the second half was an absolute fizzer with the kickoff bouncing over the sideline which allowed Rovers to place further pressure. Kane Linnett crossed off the ensuing set and Leeds were up against it.
The Rhinos did bounce back off a kick of their own when Luis Roberts dotted down a grubber kick into the corner, Martin's touchline conversion reducing the gap to 12 points. Coote knocked over another penalty to extend the gap back to 14. James McDonnell claimed the Rhinos' second try with Martin's kick making it 20-12 with six minutes remaining, but that was as close as the visitors got.

St Helens have continued their revival with a third straight victory downing Wakefield by 38-0 at home.
It was a true David v Goliath battle and with St Helens' inconsistent start to the season it was anyone's guess how this match was going to go.
St Helens crossed inside the first ten minutes when Mark Percival crossed in the seventh minute of play but from there a stale mate reigned until the final ten minutes of the first half. Two quick tries in the space of four minutes to Will Hopoate and Tom Makinson gave the Saints a 12-0 lead with goalkicking proving to be the headache for the three time premiers.
Four second half tries to the Saints sealed Wakefield's fate with Lewis Dodd crossing first just shy of the hour mark. Konrad Hurrell added a second half double and Johnny Lomax crossed to give the Saints a 38-0 shallacking to keep their hopes of a rare four-peat alive.
For Wakefield, this season is looking more and more ugly through every passing game. It's an up hill battle to stay up in Super League for the Wildcats.

The Warrington Wolves have continued their undefeated start to the 2023 with a resounding 34-6 victory over Hull FC at home today.
It was a fast and furious start from the home side crossing the stripe three times in the first quarter of the match. The scoring began in the sixth minute of play when Matty Ashton crossed following a George Williams kick. Five minutes later, Peter Mata'utia crashed over from short range.
In the twentieth minute of action, another Williams kick provided a try for Ben Currie. Two more tries were to follow in the first half when Matt Dufty backed up in support to finish off a Williams break from a loose Hull pass. Warrington claimed their fifth try of the half in the final minute when Drinkwater strolled through some poor defence and the Wolves were in total control at 28-0 at half-time.
Hull showed some resistance in the second half only conceding the one and countering it with a try of their own. They crossed just after the hour mark when Brad Dwyer dove across from short range with Jake Clifford bringing them within four converted tries. But, they were unable to come close and a late Matt Nicholson try sealed the deal for Wolves.

The Catalans Dragons have come from behind in the final minutes of play to snatch victory over the Castleford Tigers.
The Dragons crossed for the first try after just six minutes of play. Paul Segiuer crossed following a grubber from Tom Davies which was batted back in by the winger and dived on by the Frenchman to score the game's first try. Four minutes later, the Tigers responded. Jack Broadbent scooped up an errant offload from Nathan Massey and ran the best part of 20 metres to cross for the game tying try.
Adam Keighran added a penalty goal nine minutes later to give the home side an 8-6 lead. This was added to five minutes later. Tom Johnstone finished off some great individual work from Tyrone May to cross outwide and give the hosts a slender 6 point advantage at the change of ends.
Arthur Mourgue crossed a minute after the resumption when he made the Castleford defence look as foolish as their Australian counterparts to give the French side some breathing room to kickstart the second forty.
Castleford would respond just before the hour mark. Jordan Turner crossed following some desperate second phase play and some poor defence to reduce the gap to just four points. With just under 10 to go, Broadbent split the Dragons defence wide open and ran 80 metres to score the lead changing try and it appeared Castleford were home. However, a late try from Mike McMeekan was enough to give Catalans a desperate victory and keep in touch with the undefeated Warrington.

The Huddersfield Giants have ended a two game losing streak with a 26-16 away victory over the Salford Red Devils at Salford Stadium.
The Giants opened the scoring in the twelfth minute of the game when Jamaican international Ashton Golding picked up a loose pass from Marc Sneyd and raced away to score. Olly Russell added a penalty goal in the twenty-fifth minute when Salford were pinned for being inside the 10 and it was soon 8-0.
Salford got themselves back into the match and crossed for a vital try before half-time. Shane Wright crashed over from short range and Sneyd added the extras and it was two points that separated the two sides, albeit for a brief period of the game. Owen Trout crossed for the visitors three minutes out from half-time after backing up a break from Kevin Naiqama and it was 14-6 at the main change.
Salford struck first after the break when Matt Costello finished off a backline movement with an acrobatic finish. Sneyd was unsuccessful and the gap remained four points. Eight minutes later, more poor Salford discipline led Russell to add a penalty goal and extend the gap to a converted try.
Victory was assured 14 minutes from time when Trout crossed for his second try following a great short ball from Matty English. Chris McQueen put the game beyond doubt following great lead-up work from Naiqama. Salford managed a late consolation try through Kallum Watkins but it was all in vein for the hosts who slump to their second straight defeat and 3-4 on the season. Huddersfield are now 3-3 with a match in hand.
