Castleford Tigers picked up their second win in a 16-4 result over winless Wakefield Trinity on Thursday night to start Rivalry Round.
Both sides haven't had ideal starts to their Super League seasons and circled this fixture as their chance to start a run of form.
It was the hosts that found the line first. Jack Broadbent sliced through and got the Tigers close then Paul McShane dived over to make it 6-0.
The next score came right on the half hour mark. Will Dagger punched a kick through for Wakefield which was scooped by McShane who found a streaking Greg Eden to stroll away for the Tigers.
Dagger didn't falter and set up the first Wakefield points after the break. He shuffled left and found Samisoni Langi to cross for a 12-4 score line.
The visitors cause was helped when Tigers forward Joe Westerman was sent to the bin for a trip and gave them a numerical advantage.
It was the Tigers who struck despite being a man down. A left side shift found Eden again out wide who dived over for his second of the night.

Hull KR enjoyed their Good Friday with a 40-0 demolition of their local rivals Hull FC at a packed MKM Stadium.
There was a crowd of 20,000 plus on hand for one of the major fixtures in Rivalry Round and it was those in red who enjoyed their afternoon out.
Prolific try-scorer Ryan Hall got the scoring started for Hull KR after a high kick was shoveled to the winger who touched down.
The boot wasn't the friend of the hosts with another kick giving Hull KR a second four-pointer when Tom Opacic picked up the scraps.
It wasn't all roses for Hull KR with Joe Batchelor sent to the sin bin for a hip drop tackle on former Knights halfback Jake Clifford.
Fresh from returning to the field, Batchelor wasted no time making a positive impact for Hull KR. He steamed onto a short pass and got the visitors third.
From there, it was one-way traffic for Hull KR. They broke through on the right through Hall who lobbed it inside to fullback Lachlan Coote to make it 26-0.
It was party time for those in the stand that Hull KR were running towards. Hall completed his hat-trick with a fantastic finish then rounded off the scoring with his third from a Mikey Lewis pass.
Lewis also got his name on the scoresheet combining with Hall on the right then saluted the traveling Robins fans on an afternoon they won't forget quickly.

Wigan Warriors won their first derby in six years in a 14-6 win over champions St Helens at a packed DW Stadium on Good Friday.
The hosts rewarded the huge crowd with the first four-pointer in the 9th
Smith scored all of Wigan's points in the first half after he piloted home a penalty goal after an infringement from St Helens to make it an eight-point lead.
St Helens weren't at their fluid best in this game. They did break through the Warriors resolve once in the first half and Tommy Makinson looked destined for the corner before a Bevan French cover tackle saved the day.
Coming out of the break, Wigan felt just fine. Sione Mata'utia was penalised for a late hit which saw the hosts slice through and Toby King make it 14-0.
The Saints did get a four-pointer to set up a grandstand finish. Lewis Dodd grubber through for halves partner Jonny Lomax to touch down for 14-6.
Riding the momentum, Saints looked to have their second in the 68###sup

Salford Red Devils bounced back with a 22-20 win over Leigh Leopards at a sunny Leigh Sports Village on Saturday afternoon.
Both these sides were coming off losses in their last game and ready to get back in the winner's circle on a perfect afternoon for rugby league.
Leigh were the side to strike first through Josh Charnley. Lachlan Lam unfurled a wonderful cut-out pass which allowed the winger to dive over acrobatically.
The Red Devils struck back through the Man of Steel, Brodie Croft. He punched a kick low which was swooped on by Ken Sio to make it 6-4.
Croft was heavily involved in the Red Devils next two tries. He provided the pass for Sam Stone to give them the lead then was the support runner to stride away for 16-6 lead.
The hosts got the best start to the second half when Red Devils fullback Ryan Brierley was binned for a professional foul on Edwin Ipape.
Leigh stuttered in attack with the extra man but did pull back a score. It was another winger's finish, this time from Tom Briscoe to make it 16-10.
Salford restored their twelve-point advantage through Tyler Dupree. He steamed onto a short pass to get a four-pointer and salute the crowd.
Leigh put up a fight to the final minute. Charnley added a second from his own kick then Ben Reynolds scored in the final minute for the final score.

Warrington Wolves remained unbeaten with their 20-14 success over Catalans Dragons at Stade Gilbert Brutus on Saturday night.
The Wolves were howling from the early minutes. They spun the ball wide to the right and Josh Thewlis dived over in the corner for 4-0.
Dragons responded with a four-pointer of their own. A high kick was batted back into the path of Mike McMeekan who leveled the score.
The hosts fired into the lead from a long break. A kick inside was destined for Adam Keighran who was tackled before he could plant it down. The video referee awarded the score to the Dragons.
Matt Dufty showed why he is a livewire and hit back for the Wolves. He burned defenders down the wing in a 90-metre effort to make it 10-8 at the break.
Once again the Wolves struck right after the break. Former Dragon Sam Kasiano pushed through then offloaded to George Williams to make it 14-10.
The Dragons once again made it a see-saw battle with their third score. Arthur Romano was able to cross the line to make it 14-all.
There was a moment of madness which saw the Wolves left with 12 men. Tom Johnstone intercepted a pass meant for Dufty then was tackled. On the ground Gil Dudson punched the winger and was given his marching orders.
Despite being down to 12, Wolves took the lead again. They stripped the numbers on the right and Thewlis was able to go over for his second.
Catalans thought they had forced extra time late. Keighran hoisted up a kick which was spilled by Thewis then Romano Gived over. The video referee ruled Romano offside and Wolves held on.

Jake Connor's late miss saw Leeds Rhinos win 18-17 over Huddersfield Giants at Headingley Stadium on Easter Sunday.
The Giants struck first when Jake Connor's kick came back to the winger and it was sent out wide to Jermaine McGillvary to make it 4-0.
It was double delight for the Giants soon after. A short pass sent Chris McQueen over then a conversion from Connors makes the lead double digits.
They continued to push forward and almost had a third. McGillvary tried to chase a kick and was hit high by Richie Myler who was promptly sent to the bin.
Connor continued to excel from the boot. He potted the resulted penalty goal then slotted the field goal which made it 13-0.
Leeds did get themselves on the board before the breakthrough Ash Handley. He finished off a backline move for the first four-pointer for the hosts.
After half-time, Rhinos kicked their scoring into overdrive. James McDonnell sliced through then a long range effort ended with Rhys Martin brought the deficit to one point.
The Rhinos hit the lead for the first time late in the game. A high kick from Aiden Sezer saw two Giants players collide and Cameron Smith picked up the spoils for 18-13.
Huddersfield set up a grandstand finish from their own end. Tui Lolohea sliced through and set them up then a few tackles later McQueen was on the end of a grubber to score.
This left it up to Connor, who had been solid from the tee all night to win it. The Giants winger faded his kick wide of the mark to the joy of the local fans.
