The Salford Red Devils have recorded back to back victories after a hard fought 14-6 victory over the inconsistent Castleford Tigers at Salford Stadium.

Castleford opened the scoring in the first five minutes of the match. A looping cut-out pass from Kenny Edwards found winger Greg Eden in plenty of space to touch down for the game's first try. Gareth Widdop converted brilliantly from the touchline to give Castleford a 6-0 lead.

The Tigers looked likely to be going to half-time up, however they conceded inside the last five minutes of the first stanza to have the scores locked up. Kallum Watkins broke clear from inside his own half and linked up with Ryan Brierley before he drew the last man before his in-field kick sat up perfectly for the supporting Brodie Croft to cross.

Salford took the lead for the first time just shy of the hour mark when Shane Wright crossed. It was a great short ball from Marc Sneyd which allowed the former Cowboy to crash over and give his side a 12-6 cushion. Sneyd would knock over a penalty goal with 9 minutes to play to give the Red Devils an unassailable 8 point margin which Castleford couldn't chase down.

The Huddersfield Giants bounced back from their one point Easter heartbreak to beat the injury hit Catalans Dragons 26-14 ending a two game home losing streak.

Catalans crossed first when Tom Johnstone found the stripe for the 10th time this season. Adam Keighran added the extras for a 6-0 lead. Huddersfield soon hit back as Sam Halsall crossed for two tries either side of an Adam Keighran penalty, bagging his first in the 21st and his second 15 minutes later. This gave the Giants a 10-8 half-time lead.

That margin was extended six minutes after the break when Harvey Livett got a great short ball from Tui Lolohea. Jake Connor's conversion extended the margin out to two possessions. Four minutes later, Matthieu Laguerre crossed out wide to give Catalans a hope and with Keighran's sideline conversion it was 16-14.

Connor added a penalty goal just before the hour mark to make it 18-14. Kevin Naiqama sealed the game with 11 minutes to play with a try under the posts to put the Giants up by 10. Connor added an additional penalty goal on the buzzer for a 26-14 final score-line.

The Leeds Rhinos have extended Hull's six match losing streak to seven with a brutal 34-10 victory at home.

Leeds crossed first after a tense opening quarter of the match. Blake Austin broke through before offloading to James McDonnell to cross for the opening try. Nine minutes later, Ash Handley crossed for a great try after excellent lead-up work from Harry Newman and Nene MacDonald which saw the PNG international kick back in-field for Handley who was on the spot to cross.

Tom Holroyd celebrated his England call-up with a try three minutes before the break and Leeds were showing their superiority with an 18-0 lead at the break. Eight minutes after the break, Handley collected his second when he was on the end of a Richie Myler pass.

Hull were able to get a try back when Carlos Tuimavave collected a Ben McNamara kick to cross in the corner to reduce the gap to 24-4. Their joy was short lived when Sam Lisone charged up field and found fellow prop Mikolaj Oledzki to seal the match. Hull added a consolation when Davy Litten crossed to make it 30-10 but Leeds had the last laugh when Rhyse Martin crossed.

Hull KR have recorded four wins on the bounce with a 26-14 upset of champions St Helens at Craven Park.

St Helens crossed for the first try after 11 minutes when Johnny Lomax crossed after Rovers were caught short for numbers on the right edge and Lomax was in support to get the first try. Rovers wouldn't be deterred and Mikey Lewis caught the Saints napping with a brilliant show and go to lock the game up at the half-hour mark.

Mark Percival added a penalty goal after Rovers were caught by Ben Thaler for offside. Matty Lees was given a yellow card for a high tackle and this allowed Lachlan Coote to get the game back on level terms at the break.

After the break, Lewis got his second following a clever grubber from Matt Parcell to give Rovers a slender 14-8 lead. This was extended just shy of the hour mark when Coote crossed against his former club which allowed Rovers to lead by 12.

Parcell was in everything and added a second try assist when yet another of his grubbers found Jez Litten and Saints were up against it and weren't able to lure in the Rovers. The Saints did find a consolation try when Joey Lussick crashed over from short-range but they weren't able to get closer than 26-14.

Warrington Wolves 6
Wigan Warriors 13

Warrington Wolves (6)
Tries: Matty Nicholson
Goals: Stefan Ratchford 1/1

Wigan Warriors (13)
Tries: Jacob Wardle, Bradley O'Neill
Goals: Harry Smith 2/2
Field Goals: Harry Smith 1

Warrington: Dufty, Thewlis, Mata'utia, Ratchford (C), Ashton; Williams, Drinkwater; Kasiano, Walker, Vaughan, Currie, Nicholson, McGuire. Int: Clark, Minikin, Russell, Green.
Wigan: French, Miski, King, Wardle, Marshall; Shorrocks, Smith; Singleton, Powell, Byrne, Isa, Farrell (C), Ellis. Int: Havard, Mago, Pearce-Paul, O'Neill.

The Wigan Warriors have handed Warrington their first defeat of 2023 with a 13-6 upset victory away from the DW Stadium.

Wigan started the game the better side and were rewarded when Jake Wardle capped off a great week after his England call-up to cross inside the first five minutes. This gave Wigan a 4-0 lead. This was extended in the 27th minute of play when Bevan French's chip kick was collected by interchange forward Brad O'Neill for a 10-0 lead.

Warrington hit back before the break to stay in touch. A clever shift to the right saw Matty Nicholson cross for the undefeated home side and it was a close 10-6 score-line at the change of ends.

Matty Smith added a penalty goal after the break to extend the margin to a converted try. Sensing that the 6 point margin wasn't enough. Smith then added a field goal to give the Warriors a 7 point lead.

That point proved decisive when Warrington thought they got to within 3 points. However, the video referee denied two late cries for Wolves tries and Wigan become the first side to defeat the Wolves in 2023.

Wakefield Trinity 0
Leigh Leopards 32

Venue: Be Well Support Stadium, Wakefield
Crowd: TBC

Wakefield Trinity (0)

Leigh Leopards (32)
Tries: Josh Charnley 2, Joe Mellor, Gareth O'Brien, Ben Reynolds, Lachlan Lam
Goals: Ben Reynolds 4/6

Wakefield: Dagger, Kershaw, Lyne, Langi, Taufua; Smith, Lino; Whitbread, Hood, Atoni, Hewitt, Ashurst (C), Pitts. Int: Battye, Kay, Bowden, Proctor.
Leigh: O'Brien, Briscoe, Leutele, Hardaker, Charnley; Reynolds, Lam; Amone, Ipape, Mulhern, Holmes, O'Donnell, Asiata (C). Int: Mellor, Davis, Wilde, Seumanufagai.

The Leigh Leopards have dumped further misery on the Wakefield Wildcats with a 32-0 victory away from home to pile further pressure on the winless Wildcats.

After a tight opening quarter to the match, the tide began to turn in Leigh's favour which saw them collect the first try of the match. Josh Charnley sprinted down the sideline before linking up with Gareth O'Brien for the first try of the match and a 4-0 lead.

Six minutes later, Leigh's advantage was added to when Ben Reynolds crossed and converted his own try to give the Leopards a 10-0 lead. Wakefield nearly hit back when Mason Lino and Kevin Proctor combined but the movements failed and the duck-egg would remain next to the Wildcats at the break.

After the break, Lachie Lam was on the end of a backline play after Charnley again exposed Wakefield's diabolical edge defence. After setting up two of the first three tries, Charnley got on the board himself when he capitalised on a spilt Wakefield grubber kick to cross out-wide.

Charnley quickly added a second and Joe Mellor also went over as Wakefield's resistance crumbled away on another afternoon to forget for the hosts. This is now the fourth time Wakefield have failed to score a point in a Super League match this season as the alarm bells are ringing for Mark Applegarth's side if they want to avoid the drop.
