Dolphins v Warriors

The Dolphins won their ninth game of the NRL season in a 34-12 win over New Zealand Warriors in front of 35,438 fans at Brisbane Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

It has been a pass mark first year for the Dolphins who had plenty of memorable moments along the way to nine wins. The Dolphins put the game to bed with a 22-0 first half which was orchestrated by Sean O'Sullivan.

On a bright afternoon, the Dolphins looked to finish on a high. The hosts struck first through winger Jack Bostock who finished off a quick short side play with a typical winger finish.

The Dolphins had a few opportunities to double their delight. Tesi Niu went close but the final pass was forward then Sean O'Sullivan scooped it up from dummy-half and sent it forward.

They lacked polish on their sets which cost them points. Halfback O'Sullivan took it upon himself, sold the Warriors defense a dummy and sliced through to make it 12-0 for the Dolphins.

The hosts were in fine fettle to end the first half. Another bust started by O'Sullivan had them in prime position. Jarrod Wallace produced a superb inside ball for Isaiya Katoa to dive over.

It isn't a Dolphins game without Jamayne Isaako on the scorelist. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow opened up the Warriors defense then the winger who will by top pointscorer and possibly try-scorer touched down for a 22-0 lead.

The second half was an arm wrestle for the first 15 minutes. Warriors did get themselves on the board through Freddy Lussick. The substitute hooker scooted over from close range.

Warriors went back-to-back and got the crowd back in the contest. Josh Curran broke through from the kick-off and it was finished off by Marcelo Montoya who made it 22-10.

The Dolphins absorbed the Warriors best shot and put the game to bed. Kodi Nikorima weaved around the defense before he laid one the four-pointer to Max Plath to get his first ever in the NRL.

It has been a good season for the Dolphins and they signed off in style. Tesi Niu sliced through the tired Warriors line and found Kenny Bromwich who enjoyed himself a four-pointer.
