With two rounds left the race for the top six is wide open - and the relegation battle is wide open too.
Let's start top and bottom. Featherstone are League Leaders and will get the first week of playoffs to rest with first place locked in. Newcastle will be relegated with the margin now too great for them to dig their way out of the bottom two.
The race for the six: Toulouse are the only other team who are mathematically locked in for playoffs so far. Sheffield and London are all-but there, but could still fall out of contention should a whole raft of results go against them. Halifax, York and Widnes all sit slightly outside the top six and will be hoping Bradford or Batley slip up in the closing fortnight. Key clashes over the final fortnight shape to be London v Bradford (R26), Widnes v Sheffield (R26), York v Batley (R26); then Sheffield v Bradford (R27).
Relegation rumble: Barrow look to have done everything necessary to avoid relegation, and with their opponents next Saturday being Newcastle, should be comfortably clear this time next week. Keighley should escape scrutiny as well, with 12th placed Whitehaven and 13th placed Swinton facing each other in what shapes as a future-defening clash at Heywood Road next Sunday. Things are particularly gruesome for Whitehaven, who then face Toulouse in the final round, while Swinton are against Halifax to close the season. Keighley's two clashes are against Halifax and London, who are both in the top six mix.
