Both teams are 1-17 as named for the derby, where the inaugural Carl Webb Medal will be presented, named for the rampaging Queensland forward who passed away from motor neurone disease over the off-season.

He appeared 66 times for Brisbane from 2000-2004 before moving to the Cowboys where he played 115 games up until 2010 before finishing his career at the Eels in 2011. He also was capped for the Maroons 12 times and once for Australia.
