Queensland have sealed their second straight Women's Origin series with an impressive 22-6 win in tough conditions in Townsville over New South Wales.

Things could not have started any worse for NSW as a lost ball on just their second touch in possession gave QLD and straight from the scrum some good work from Tarryn Aiken put Evania Pelite through for Queensland to go up 6-0.

Queensland added a penalty goal inside ten minutes to push their lead out to 8-0.

New South Wales couldn't put anything together as ill-discipline and poor ball security cost them and as Julia Robinson was able to go over after Emma Tonegato spilt a grubber kick from Tarryn Aiken and Robinson was on the spot to score. The conversion from wide out was successful from Lauren Brown and the Maroons lead 14-0 which they took into the break.

The Blues needed to get their stuff together and what looked to be a good platform in their first set was pushed back the other way when Ali Brigginshaw nailed a 40/30 kick to put Queensland into good field position. The Queenslanders picked up two more points through a penalty goal to lead 16-0.

Things peated out a little bit as the Blues continued to try and fight back but again poor decision making again cost them as they dropped the ball at least twice within a couple of metres of the Maroons line. The Sky Blues finally did score and it came through a piece of luck when NSW were caught short of numbers and a Tarryn Aiken pass needed to be intercepted by Jaime Chapman and she did racing 90m to score.

NSW still struggled to get any momentum in attack as they fought to get back into the game but couldn't do it and eventually Queensland sealed the win just shy of half time when Tazmin Rapana scored from close range and after Lauren Brown's conversion, the Maroons sealed their 22-6 win.
