Our annual Christmas message

From everyone at LeagueUnlimited.com, to you and your family & friends - we wish you a very Merry Christmas, happy 2025, and a safe holiday season.

Looking back on 2024, there's plenty to celebrate. Penrith's fourth consecutive title delivered their sixth overall premiership, while Wigan went back-to-back themselves. After two years of Newcastle ruling the NRLW, the Sydney Roosters took out that title, and in the UK it was York Valkyrie's Women's Super League premiership for the second straight season.

We celebrated Jahrome Hughes (Melbourne) and Olivia Kernick (Sydney) taking home the Dally M medals, with Hull KR's Mikey Lewis the Super League's Man of Steel and York's Georgie Hetherington the Woman of Steel.

In rep footy, the Blues snatched back the State of Origin shield - coming back from a game one loss to win the series 2-1. Queensland kept the Women's Origin shield in the first series of the three-game era, and in the International space, the Australians won the Pacific Championship in both mens and womens formats. There were a heap of internationals played all over the planet in 2024, including a bunch of World Cup Qualifiers. Full international results can be viewed here.

A hat tip to the following clubs as well, who won lower grade competitions in Australia and the UK: Norths Devils (QLD Cup), Mackay Cutters (QRL Womens), Newtown Jets (NSW Cup), Illawarra Steelers (NSW Womens), Wakefield Trinity (RFL Championship and 1895 Cup), Oldham (RFL League 1), Wigan Warriors (Challenge Cup), St Helens (Womens Challenge Cup), and Leigh Leopards (Womens Championship).

We're already seeing footy boot up for 2025 in the northern hemisphere, with one friendly played on December 22 and more scheduled for Boxing Day, before plenty more in January along with the kick off of the Challenge Cup. From there, Super League kicks off in February, and the NRL in March.
