Gold Coast Titans v Dolphins

The Dolphins have taken themselves off the bottom of the NRL ladder picking up an impressive 36-10 victory for their first win of the season over the Gold Coast Titans.

It was early-on that it was going to be one of those nights for the Titans when after just three minutes, the officials went back a set prior to bin Tino Fa'asuamaleaui for a high shot on Felise Kaufusi. The Dolphins took advantage at the back end of the ten minute period when the Hammer was able to go through as the Dolphins spread the ball from their own end.

Daniel Saifiti crashed through the front door with the Titans defence soft in the middle and the Dolphins had a 12-0 lead. Jamayne Isaako put over two penalty goals in the 19th and 36th minute to put the visitors up 16-0. The Titans couldn't take advantage of their own 10 minute period with an extra man late in the first half before

The Dolphins took a late two-point field goal attempt which went wide which didn't change the score and the visitors had a 16-0 lead.

A second half comeback was needed from the Titans, and early in the second half the Gold Coast thought they were going to score first when Jaylan De Groot crossed however despite it being awarded live by Wyatt Raymond, the bunker overturned it deeming an obstruction in the lead up.

The bitter punch came for the hosts when Max Plath was on the spot to catch a Titans error and plant the ball down, Isaako's conversion made it 22-0 to the visitors. The Dolphins then added a fourth try of the night when Connelly Lemuelu scored just after the hour mark to seemingly put the game beyond reach at 28-0 following the conversion.

Titans fans were given hope with quick back-to-back tries Phillip Sami and AJ Brimson scoring within five minutes to give an outside hope at 28-10 but an error burst the momentum bubble. Another Isaako penalty goal put the game beyond doubt at 30-10 before Isaako added his name to the scoreboard with a try in the last 70 seconds of the game and his 8th goal of the night sealed the 36-10 win.

Next week, the Dolphins take their good form into a Thursday night clash against the out-of-form Panthers at Suncorp Stadium, whilst the Titans need to put their ideas together when they take on the Dragons at WIN Stadium next week.
