Despite the scores being level at half-time, the Huddersfield Giants have continued their mid-season revival of sorts, with a 30-12 victory over a poor Castleford Tigers outfit.
The game started disastrously for the visitors when Zac Woolford was sin-binned for a late shot. Fortunately, Giants fullback George Flanagan Jr imposed himself with a kick return which put Jacob Gagai into space, the former Rabbitoh found Tui Lolohea in support and the veteran half ran it round to score the first try after five minutes. Sam Halsall added a second try just before the break (33rd min) after a terrific pass from Lolohea put him through a gap to make it 12-0.
Despite starting poorly, the Tigers added two tries in the final three minutes to tie the game at 12-apiece. The first came from a rampaging effort from George Lawler charged through some poor defence to put the Tigers on the board. Zac Cini got the Tigers back on level-terms when he busted through some poor Giants defence to touch down and give the hosts all momentum.
Huddersfield opened the scoring ten minutes into the second half when Taane Milne charged over through some feeble home defence to score the first try of the half. Despite their chances to bring the scores level, Castleford's hopes vanished 11 minutes from time. Lolohea again turned conductor with a magnificent inside ball to Flanagan Jr to score and put the game beyond doubt.
The hosts played valiantly to the final whistle, but Daejarn Asi threw a contender for the worst pass of the season… straight to Lolohea! The Tongan international sprinted the best part of 85 metres to claim the win for the Giants. Post game, Tigers coach Danny Maguire lamented his side's performance as atrocious and said it was their worst of the season so far.

For the third time this season, Wigan and Leigh put on a brutal contest with the Leopards claiming regular season bragging rights, courtesy of an 18-8 home victory.
After Wigan got fresh set following a Leigh knock on, the Warriors used this to their advantage when Jake Wardle side-stepped two defenders to score the first try. Adam Keighran converted to make the score 6-0 in favour of the home side.
Both sides had chances in the opening half, but the scramble defence by both sides was first rate on every occasion. In particular, Keighran's monster shot on Tesi Niu which denied a certain try. The Australian added two more points with a kick from 35 metres to give the Warriors an 8-0 lead at the break after Leigh were penalised for being offside.
Adrian Lam calmed his troops after the break when Niu got his revenge on the Wigan defence to touch down in the far left corner of the Leigh Sports Village. Leigh took the lead for the first time when a sweeping move down Wigan's left edge saw the home side attack in numbers sending Edwin Ipape over between the posts in one of the tries of the 2025 SL season.
Wigan tried desperately to fight their way back as Jai Field mounted an attack before being stopped by Ipape metres away and that proved to be the end of their attack. The home side scored the final points in the last minute when Trout pounced on a loose ball. O'Brien converted to give Leigh an 18-8 victory.

Despite a much-improved performance from their scraped together troops, Salford have slumped to a 24-12 defeat to a disappointing Warrington side. Even though Wire won the game, their efforts wouldn't please coach Sam Burgess as the top sides have taken care of the lowly Red Devils with ease this season.
The effort plays from Salford were off the charts with forward Chris Hill deserving most praise with Joe Ormondroydcoming just behind. Early on, it was Warrington throwing the ball around with razzle dazzle. George Williams fooled the defence with a flick pass inside to Matt Dufty to score the opening try.
A cheap turnover from Josh Thewlis turned the Red Devils straight onto the attack and they went onto the scoreboard after 23 minutes. A quick shift to the right-hand side saw Ethan Ryan slam the ball down. The hosts added two penalty goals for a rare lead this season, but that evaporated when big James Harrison strolled over after a magnificent offload from Ben Currie to go into half-time with an undeserved four-point lead after being out-enthused for most of the opening forty.
Two further Salford penalty goals saw the scoreline locked up once again at 12-apiece and there was a sense of optimism in Salford that hasn't been experienced much in 2025. However, that was short lived as Warrington took to the front and never turned back.
On the hour mark, Wire finally broke down the Salford defensive line once more. A clever Dufty grubber kick sat up on it's point for Josh Thewlis who atoned for his earlier mistake. A dangerous tackle penalty gave Warrington two easy points to make the task for Salford just that little bit harder. Stefan Ratchford put the game beyond doubt when the home side couldn't defuse a kick and the five-eighth touched down to seal an uninspiring twelve-point win.

St Helens have continued their recent good run of form to take a seven-point win over Hull FC who continue their poor showings at home in recent seasons.
St Helens had 61% of possession in the first half and capitalised on some early poor discipline in the opening quarter. A late hit off the ball gave Johnny Lomax a gift two points to open the scoring.
A shift to the right edge saw Lomax combine with Tristan Sailor. After a slow start to the year, the Brisbane-import delivered a Harbour Bridge pass to Kyle Feldt who scored his twelfth try of the campaign. A great conversion made it 8-0. The rest of the first half was marred by poor discipline and rusty attack, Hull had a chance before the half with a nice break down the left before a cracking tackle from Harry Robertson ended that chance and it remained a two-score game at the half.
Saints opened the second half scoring with a cross-field kick from Lomax. Feldt leapt over the top of Lewis Martin and slammed the ball down to give the Saints a 12-0 lead. Hull never game and despite being on the end of some contentious refereeing decisions hit back.
Aidan Sezer steamed onto a pass to be sent away before finding Davvy Litten to score and bring the gap to a converted try. A Lomax field goal in the final minute play sealed the deal for Saints as Paul Wellens' chargers bounced back following a poor start to the season.

A ruthless first half from Wakefield has buried Catalans finals chances on the grounds of Belle Vue after the hosts thrashed the Dragons by 38 points. The win also sees Trinity in the top six, following Hull's earlier defeat against St Helens.
It was ominous from the outset as Wakefield moved quicky down their right edge of the field and allowed Corey Hall into space. The centre found Josh Rourke who quickly found Max Jowitt and that was the warning for the visitors that it was going to be one rough afternoon.
Despite a ten-minute resistance, Wakefield always looked likely to add to their lead and a movement down the right edge again saw Scottish international Lachlan Walmsley go across for a 12-0 lead. On the next set after points, the bomb from the visitors was taken from Sam Tomkins grasp by Rourke who touched down.
On the 20-minute mark, Wakefield decided to show off. A bomb from Lino wasn't defused by the visitors, and it went through at least five sets of hands before Walmsley touched down in the corner and it was looking like another long day for the Catalans side.
The final ten minutes was a calamity for the visitors, a grubber kick wasn't defused and big name import Tevita Pangai Jr stood there waiting for it to be picked up by Josh Griffin and it was 26-0. But wait, it got worse, a poor scrum play gave Wakefield the last attack before a professional foul saw Tomkins sin-binned, fortunately the hosts played pity on the visitors and knocked over a penalty goal.
The second half was a much of muchness with Wakefield again dominating the opening moments while Catalans number 1 was in the bin. Rourke went straight through TPJ and another defender untouched to score and it was 34-0. The visitors did have some luck before Tomkins' return when Luke Keary's cross-field kick was taken by TPJ who got the lone try of the game.
Wakefield finished with the last laugh however with two late tries to cap what was a truly comprehensive victory for the hosts. Lino and Tom Johnstone crashed over for the hosts to make it a 38-point verdict.

Leeds have kept the race for the League Leaders' Shield alive after upsetting first-placed Hull KR 14-8 away from home on Sunday.
It was a tough opening start with both sides guilty of blowing try scoring chances. Rovers bombed the best chance when Joe Burgess broke away on a kick return before finding Arthur Mourgue but the French international blew it when he threw a forward pass. Leeds were just as guilty bombing their long-range effort with good busts by Alfie Edgell going unrewarded.
Eventually, something had to take its toll and it was the hosts taking advantage with the first try of the contest. Tyrone May dug deep into the line to find Rhyse Martin. The PNG Kumul charged across for his first try of the season for a 6-0 lead.
A controversial captain's challenge led to the next score, Mikey Lewis was hit high by Harry Newman which was picked up by video official Liam Rush. The Man of Steel departed for a HIA (which he failed) while Mourgue added a penalty goal for an 8-0 lead. Rovers were denied two tries before the break when the final pass again rued the hosts chances.
The second half began in controversy after Sam Lisone milked a high shot penalty as JWH appeared to graze his neck. Off the ensuing set, the direct attack of the Rhinos when Lisone crashed over off a brilliant short ball from skipper Cam Smith to cut the gap to two.
To compound matters, prop Dean Hadley was placed on report for an eye gouge allegation against Harry Newman. Hull KR went fully off the rails when JWH was pinned for dissent and we were level at 8-all.
Just when the game looked set for golden point with both sides in the armwrestle. Up stepped the Rhinos who dared on the kick return to be expansive. After going through several sets of hands and going over 70 metres in the movement, it ended up with Lachie Miller who touched down for a classic team try.
Despite Robins throwing everything at them late, they drop their second game of the season and Willie Peters will be looking for improvement against Leigh.
