Bears Flegg Team Dominate First
Half Against 2nd Placed Sharks

In a virtual copy-cat performance to their Premier League counter parts the Bears Jersey Flegg team dominated and controlled the talented Sharks in the first half, the 12-10 narrow lead at the break not representative of the boys' performance. Cronulla hit back in the second with 3 tries before the Bears locked them out from scoring any more points.

It was sterling up front performances from Ryan Verlinden and Jessie Mileto controlling the ruck and eating up the metres. Winger Joel Bennet continued his incredible season form running rings around a usually composed Shark defence. Tim Woodbine (quickly becoming a Bears stalwart) put his body on the line once again as he bashed and bustled to get the ball out to his fellow Bears. Finally special mention from the Coach for under 18's S.G. Ball rep player Liam Foran who produced a very composed and mature performance.

Coach Gavin Catanach had fine words for his team "they were really good in the first half we dominated the game and controlled the ruck. We played good percentage football - with great discipline. Gavin named Ryan, Joel, Tim and Liam as standouts and was excited to announce - "and this weeks Players' Player Award goes to the Italian Stallion Jessie Mileto".
