Brett Hodgson to undergo surgery

Wests Tigers full-back and captain Brett Hodgson will undergo surgery on Tuesday, June 12.

Hodgson has multiple fractures to the left cheekbone and eye socket after suffering the injury against Parramatta at Telstra Stadium on Monday night.

He is expected to be out for a minimum 8 weeks. Brett has been advised by his doctor to rest at home to allow the swelling to go down before surgery and will not be attending any Wests Tigers sessions.

Hodgson was due to play his 200th career game against Newcastle this Sunday.

Coach Tim Sheens has yet to name a new captain for the match against the Knights.
