Final round
for the Bartercard Cup teams

The final round of New Zealand's Bartercard Cup competition, before heading into the play-offs, has last year's champions Mt Albert Lions, and Counties Manukau Jetz both vying for top spot on the ladder at the end of the regular season. The Jetz are equal on points with Mt Albert but lie second on the table due to points differential.

After their shock loss to bottom placed Waicoa Bay Stallions last weekend, Mt Albert will be looking for a much better performance against the Central Falcons at Ericsson Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Jetz play Canterbury at Papakura's Massey Park on Sunday. Canterbury Bulls are third, one win behind the Jetz but with a superior points for and against record, so the winner of the game on Sunday will have the advantage on a home semi-final.

North Harbour Tigers and Hibiscus Coast Raiders are the teams most likely to complete the top five.

Otahuhu Ellerslie's late run of victories will not be enough to get them through to the semis however.

The Eastern Manukau Tornadoes are second to last on the ladder and play Marist Richmond Brothers at Ericsson Stadium on Sunday. If the Marist side win on Sunday, and other results go their way, they still have a chance of being in the Top 5, albeit a slim chance.
