Tronc Becomes A Cowboy

Redcliffe Dolphins prop Shane Tronc has signed a one-year-deal with the North Queensland Cowboys after an impressive season with Queensland Cup premiers the Redcliffe Dolphins. The 22-year-old completed his impressive season finishing third in the QLD Cup player of the year awards and being a stand out performer for the Queensland Residents side against Western Australia. Tronc weighs in at around 118 kgs and if he can make the step up to National Rugby League for the Cowboys he will make a huge impact. This signing adds more depth to the Cowboys front row stocks after losing John Buttigieg to retirement late this season. Jaimon Lowe, Mitchell Sargent, Paul Rauhihi, Daniel Strickland are all expected to be fighting for top grade spots while Shane Tronc, Dean Limpus and Matthew Scott won't be far behind them as well as Comets props Peter Penaia and Wayne Phillis.
