Veteran Aussie
goes out in style as Castleford roll Whitehaven

Veteran Australian halfback Brad Davis has brought the curtain down on his career with a dominant performance to help Castleford back into English Super League.

At 37, the oldest player in the game, Davis finished his 15-year career in style as the Tigers pulled off a 36-8 victory over Whitehaven in the National League One grand final at Widnes.

The former Nottingham, Huddersfield, York, Wakefield and Villeneuve player scored two interception tries and had a hand in all four others as Castleford condemned the Cumbrians to a second successive grand final defeat.

The Cronulla-born Davis has played all his senior football in England and France and is hopeful of gaining a fulltime job at Castleford after coaching the club's under-21s team this year.
