WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats have confirmed the signing of forward David Solomona on a three-year contract and young stand off Liam Campbell on a two-year deal. Parramatta Eels second rower Solomona, 25, will join the Wildcats next January, after the club beat off interest from two other Super League clubs to secure his signature.

Talau Arrives In Britain

ST Helens have welcomed Willie Talau to Knowsley Road, with the former Canterbury Bulldogs centre arriving in the UK on Thursday. Talau was released by the Bulldogs earlier this week to link up with Saints earlier than initially planned, having signed a three-year contract which would have begun in 2004.

RFL Unhappy With Quota Ruling

THE Rugby Football League is taking legal advice over a landmark ruling by the European Court of Justice which will wreck plans to reduce the number of overseas players in the British game. Super League clubs are in the process of bringing down the overseas quota from five to three over the next two years.

Darren Britt To Hang Up Boots

ST Helens prop forward Darren Britt has retired from the game after sustaining a serious head injury. The 33-year-old Australian suffered fractures to his eye-socket, cheekbone and jaw after an accidental clash of heads in the first minute of last week's game against Hull FC.
