Bottom three teams all win to create premiership mayhem

THE bottom three sides of the NRL, Penrith, North Queensland and Canberra have all recorded victories to create a logjam at the bottom end of the NRL Telstra Premiership. Canberra have moved to nine points with their victory over the Northern Eagles and only sit one point outside the top eight while Penrith and North Queensland both move to eight points with wins over the Roosters and Dragons respectively.

Heads must roll at League H.Q (Part 1)

AS the 2002 NRL season progresses, it has become evident that some people who have a supposed vested interest in our game are either asleep at the wheel or totally incompetent. I'll go for the latter.

Fitzgibbon on Standby for Blues

ROOSTERS backrower Craig Fitzgibbon has been placed on standby and will come into the New South Wales side for game two if Bryan Fletcher fails a medical on his injured ankle. Fletcher has been give until Sunday to prove his fitness and is rated as doubtful at this stage. The Blues may also use the same loophole as Lote Tuqiri should aonther NSW forward fail to be fit in time for next Wednesday's clash.

Raiders make it back to back wins

FOR the first time this year, the Canberra Raiders have recorded back to back victories with an impressive 28-16 victory over the Northern Eagles. Canberra now have next week off with the bye and must start preparing for their match against the Cronulla Sharks on Sunday, June 16.

QLD name side for second Origin match

QUEENSLAND have named a side without Lote Tuqiri as he has to face the match review committe over a lifting incident from yesterdays loss to St George Illawarra.

Blues side for game two

NEW SOuth Wales have named their side for the second State of Origin match to be played at ANZ Stadium on June 5. Shaun Timmins comes back into the side and the man he replaces, Matthew Gidley, has been named as 18th man and Steve Menzies comes onto the bench for the injured Ben Kennedy. The side is as follows:
