THE Prime Minister?s office will shortly send a cheque for $2,455,000 to Kogarah Council for the next stage of the upgrade to OKI Jubilee Stadium. Kogarah Council has received advice that the funds will be available within the next few weeks, with the remainder of the $8 million grant being paid over the next two years.
ST.GEORGE-ILLAWARRA CEO Peter Doust has stated that Aussie Stadium is not relevant to the St.George-Illawarra supporter base.
Doust made the remark in the Sydney Morning Herald when questioned on whether Aussie Stadium was considered as a venue for a possible Dragons' home final.
TODAY'S Sydney Morning Herald (7/8/04) has confirmed that OKI Jubilee Stadium could host a night final if the Dragons can finish in the top four.
IF they snare a home final, the Dragons won't switch to Aussie Stadium but they won't necessarily play at WIN Stadium.
THE NRL have confirmed that the St George Bank Dragons will play Manly on Sunday, the 29th of August at Oki Jubilee Stadium. Kick-off has been scheduled for 2:30pm.
The last time Manly visited Kogarah was in March 1997. The match was much anticipated following Manly's controversial victory in the 1996 Grand Final against the mighty Saints. A Friday night crowd of 16,706 saw Manly narrowly escape with an 18-14 victory.
