Broncos sweating on Oates injury

After setting the maroon and gold fans into a frenzy with unparalleled form over the opening two rounds, Broncos winger Corey Oates is facing a stint on the sidelines.

Oates' night was impacted by a shoulder injury sustained in the final ten minutes of Brisbane's win over the Warriors last night at Suncorp Stadium, with his diagnosis eventually declared as an AC joint problem.

As a result the Broncos are now facing up to a month without the rampaging winger, whose impact club captain Corey Parker said was akin to that of Manu Vatuvei at the Warriors.

"He's our Manu. He's been fantastic this year so far - him, Darius and Jordan [Kahu] have gotten us out of some sticky situations", said Parker.

The Broncos are back in action next Saturday night at Pepper Stadium when they travel to meet the Panthers.
