MATCH REVIEW: NRL Round 2

A mammoth nine players have been hit with citations after Round 2 of the NRL - and there's still a game in hand!

FRIDAY: James Roberts (Broncos) picked up a Grade 1 Contrary Conduct charge for touching the referee, while Jacob Lillyman and Ben Matulino (Warriors) both got hit with Grade 1 offences for a careless high tackle and shoulder charge respectively. Roberts will escape suspension with the early plea, as will Lillyman, while Matulino is staring down the barrell of up to 4 weeks out depending if he contests. If he takes the early plea it's 3 weeks.

SATURDAY: Dylan Napa (Roosters) was issued a Grade 1 charge for a careless high tackle for which he'll escape suspension with an early plea. Joseph Leilua (Raiders) copped two charges - a dangerous throw and contrary conduct - one in each half. An early plea will see him miss 3 weeks while an unsuccessful challenge will make it 4 on the sideline. Manu Ma'u (Eels) will miss a week for his dangerous contact on Cowboys winger Kyle Feldt regardless of his plea, while Cowboys captain Matt Scott will escape suspension for a similar charge in the same game due to his prior clean record.

SUNDAY: Marika Koroibete (Storm) was penalised for a dangerous throw on the Gold Coast's Nathan Davis. He'll escape suspension for the Grade 1 charge with an early plea.

UPDATE: David Klemmer (Bulldogs) has chosen to contest the contrary conduct charge levelled at him after touching referee Ben Cummins in Thursday night's win over Penrith. Should he lose, he's facing two weeks off and will miss both the 'Dogs clash with Parramatta and the 'Black Friday' re-match against South Sydney.
