NRL MATCH REVIEW: Round 23

Charges as they're issued from the NRL's 23rd round.

Thursday | Bulldogs v Sea Eagles

Canterbury captain James Graham has been charged with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle for a hit on Darcy Lussick in the 41st minute of his side's win over Manly. The base penalty of 75 points increases to 105 points with increased loading of 40% for two non-similar prior incidents. An early plea (75 points) will see Graham free to play in a week's time against Brisbane, while an unsuccessful judiciary challenge would have him sitting that match out.

RESULT: James Graham pleads guilty and will miss no game time. 0 weeks

Saturday | Wests Tigers v Titans

David Shillington (Titans) receives a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact charge. A base penalty of 100 points would see him miss a week if he challenged unsuccessfully at the judiciary, but can escape suspension with an early plea (75).

RESULT: Shillington pleads guilty and will miss no game time. 0 weeks.

Ryan James (Titans) hit with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle for his 60th minute low hit on James Tedesco. It carries a 125 point base penalty, which is bumped up to 150 points on 20% loading for a prior non-similar offence. An early plea sees him miss one week, as does a challenge at judiciary without success.

RESULT: Ryan James will plead not guilty to the charge and is set to contest it in full at judiciary during the week. Judiciary.

JUDICIARY: James has been found GUILTY, but has successfully had the charge downgraded from Grade 2 to Grade 1. As a result he faces no suspension. 0 weeks.

Saturday | Warriors v Rabbitohs

Zane Musgrove (Rabbitohs) committed a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge in the 14th minute on Albert Vete and with the base penalty of 200 points, would need to take the early plea to only serve 1 week (150 pts). A two week layoff awaits if he challenges at the judiciary and fails.

RESULT: Musgrove has taken the early plea and will miss Monday's clash with Cronulla. One week.

Sunday | Knights v Panthers

Waqa Blake (Panthers) has been issued a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact charge from his opening minute hit on Newcastle's Jake Mamo. The penalty of 100 base points reduces to 75 with an early plea, so Blake will only miss a match if he challenges the charge unsuccessfully at the judiciary.

RESULT: Blake has taken the early plea and will miss no game time. 0 weeks

Monday | Raiders v Storm

Josh Hodgson (Raiders) has been hit with a Dangerous Contact (Head/Neck) Grade 1 charge for a 17th minute incident involving Jesse Bromwich in last night's win. RESULT: Hodgson has pleaded No Contest which means he will miss one match and have no carryover points going forward. One week.

There were no charges from Broncos v Eels (Friday), Dragons v Sharks (Saturday) or Roosters v Cowboys (Sunday).
