Bulldogs and Broncos news

Bulldogs prop Roy Asotasi has passed his final fitness test and is a certain starter for tomorrow night's preliminary final against Brisbane at Aussie Stadium.

Asotasi has not played since the Round 24 30-0 loss to the Broncos when he injured the medial ligament in his knee. The Kiwi international was cleared by his specialist on Tuesday and will resume playing off the bench for the Bulldogs.

Utility Reni Maitua will also make his comeback for the Bulldogs, he also completed the Dogs' final training session this morning.

Elsewhere, Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett says his team is in the best shape it's been in for four years heading into tomorrow night's preliminary final against the Bulldogs.

Speaking at training at Sydney's Aussie Stadium this morning, Bennett confirmed that Karmichael Hunt will play at fullback even though he was again named on the wing. The Broncos are coming off a 50-6 belting of Newcastle in last weekend's semi-finals and Bennett.

And Bennett says he's delighted they're almost completely injury free at the business end of the season after battling with injuries late in the season for the previous three years.
