A strong first half has helped the Cronulla Sharks to see off a Wests Tigers fightback to score a 36-22 at Remondis Stadium.
The first half could easily be described as the Todd Carney show with the star five-eighth being the central figure to the Sharks performance in the opening 40 minutes.
The game opened ominously for the visitors with on just their second touch of the match, this gave the Sharks some early possession right on the Tigers line. The Sharks were unable to put this pressure into points but were getting repeat sets which created more pressure.
The Sharks did eventually get on the scoreboard from this pressure in the 11th minute with Wade Graham scoring in his 100th career match. From there on the Sharks were clinical in their finishing thanks to a strong performance from Todd Carney who set up other first half tries to Nathan Stapleton and Luke Lewis.
Coming up to half time, Andrew Fifita showed that the Sharks weren
