Cayless likely to miss season

Parramatta's front-row crisis has worsened with skipper Nathan Cayless likely to be ruled out for the remainder of the season.

A CT scan on Cayless' eye area today has revealed he does have a broken eye socket. The club says a decision on surgery will be made when swelling subsides but added its skipper is unlikely to play any part in the Eels' finals campaign.

Cayless sustained the injury in the Eels' win over the Sydney Roosters on Sunday and initial scans this week cleared him of damage to the eye. But a leading specialist advised him to undergo further tests because the injury was not healing as expected.
