Huddersfield Giants and Hull KR both played out a thrilling draw at Galpharm Stadium.

After being hammered twice in the League and Cup earlier on this season by the Giants, Rovers showed their intent from the start as Scott Murrell opened the scoring after re-gathering his own close range grubber kick.

On the back of a third successive set a perfectly-timed last-tackle pass from Ben Fisher sent Clint Newton over the line as the visitors made it 12-0 with Mick Dobson's second conversion. Huddersfield gained some possession and a brilliant kick from Kevin Brown was pounced on by Michael Lawrence as the hosts cut the interval lead to 12-6.

Huddersfield upped their tempo early into the second half and they got on level terms as Kevin Brown stepped his way through the visitors defence to score. Brett Hodgson put the hosts in front for the first time in the game with long range penalty goal on 54-minutes.

Rovers got a second wind in the third quarter as they pinned the Giants in their own half. Two penalty goals from Dobson put them into a 16-14 lead going into the last five minutes of the game.

However, there was to be late drama the Giants had two tries chalked off by the video referee , with the last one leading to a penalty being awarded with time on the clock showing 80-mionutes Brett Hodgson cooly slotted over the goal from the touchdown to snatch a draw.

Hull FC claimed a hard fought win over bottom of the table Catalans Dragons in low scoring game at KC Stadium.

The Black and Whites dominated the early stages as the Dragons rarely touched the ball and on 11 minutes after an initial break from Sean Long led to Jordan Turner opening the scoring.

Casey McGuire went over from close range for the visitors after 19 minutes and Thomas Bosc's touchline goal allowed them to take the lead.

Richard Whiting chipped the kick-off high and short, Danny Tickle took it in and the ball was eventually recycled through to Whiting who took advantage of Vaccari's poor positioning to cross in the corner for an unconverted try. On the stroke of half-time Bosc added a penalty goal to level the game up at 8-8.

Both sides had chances after the re-start but with some fine line defence the score remained the same. On sixty minutes, Hull's hopes were hit as Long was led off the field after a thunderous collision with Carlaw, with a suspected broken elbow which could rule him out for the season.

On 65-minutes the Black and Whites were given a penalty and Tickle slotted it over from wide out. The Dragons did all but score in last few minutes of the game as Hull managed to hold on for the points to cement fourth spot.

St Helens eased to victory over Salford City Reds in a point's fest at GPW Stadium Knowsley Road.

After already beating St Helens early on this year Salford were on the back foot from the start and they went behind with Scott Moore's flick allowing Paul Wellens to send  Ade Gardner over in the corner.

But to their credit the Reds roared back, a clever pass slipped by Phil Leuluai enabled Ryan Boyle to go over near the posts and a Daniel Holdsworth pass led to substitute Adam Sidlow touching down as Salford led 10-4.

But Saints stung Salford with a stunning blitz of four tries in just nine minutes to turn the contest round. Tony Puletua powered his way over to level with Paul Wellens scoring a quick brace as the hosts moved into a 28-10 lead. Salford once again hit back through Sidlow to trail by 12 at the interval.

The second half was full of tries Saints added five more and Salford also showed their attacking skills by adding three more, for six in total.

Paul Wellens added two more to take his game tally to four and man of the match Leon Pryce also scored a brace as Saints racked up 58 points to keep the pressure on the top two, Wigan and Warrington.

Mark Henry, Ashley Gibson and Holdsworth were the City Reds try scorers.

League leaders Wigan Warriors got back to winning ways by defeating Harlequins RL at Twickenham Stoop.

Played in hot, sweltering conditions Wigan drew first blood as Thomas Leuluai spread the ball wide, finding Sam Tomkins who showed some good footwork to score. Pat Richards kicked the visitors into an 8-0 lead on 27 minutes.

Luke Dorn came close to scoring for Quins and just on half time Joel Tomkins was placed in the sin-bin for pushing and shoving on the half way line.

Quins failed to take advantage, and being down to 12-men Wigan scored again eight minutes the second half when winger Goulding stole a loose pass and raced the length of the field to touch down. Back to a full compliment Jamie O'Callaghan picked up a loose kick after a charge down and raced away to score and get Quins on the scoreboard.

Michael McIlorum scored the Warriors third try of the game before once again the Londoners would not lie down and hit back when Ben Jones-Bishop beat Tomkins to O'Callaghan's neat kick to cut the gap to 20-12.

However, Wigan turned on the power in the last 13-minutes and ran in three unanswered tries from Liam Farrell and a Pat Richards brace to ease home.

Castleford Tigers moved to within one point of a play off place by getting past Bradford Bulls at Jungle.

Kicking off at 11.30am the game was played in searing heat and the Bulls made a good start , Paul Sykes
