Catalans Dragons got their second win of the season by defeating Harlequins RL at the Twickenham Stoop.

Quins started the better but a mistake from winger Will Sharp, when the ball slipped from his hands, led to an easy score for Casey McGuire to give the Dragons the lead. Matt Gardiner hit back for the hosts, but tries from Jerome Guisset and Clint Greenshields gave the visitors a comfortable 16-6 lead at the break.

Catalans extended their lead early into the second half when Oliver Elima muscled his way over. Jason Golden reduced the deficit with a try for Quins on the hour. The game was sealed minutes late when Guisset scored his second.

The Londoners added respectability to the score-line with two late tries from Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook and Chris Melling but it came too late as the Dragons held on for the points. Wigan Warriors 12 Tries: Ainscough 2 Goals: Roberts 2

St Helens claimed a hard-fought win over local rivals Wigan Warriors at a packed JJB Stadium.

Wigan started the better and they pressured St Helens into making some uncharacteristic mistakes that eventually led to Shaun Ainscough scoring the first try of the game. Saints immediately hit back after the Warriors let the ball from the kick-off bounce into touch, which led to Keiron Cunningham burrowing his way over from dummy half. Despite dominating the game, Wigan had only an Amos Roberts penalty goal to show as the teams went into the break at 6-6.

At the start of the second half Wigan continued to pressure the Saints line and it eventually cracked as Ainscough went over in the corner to score his second to regain the lead for the hosts. Once again, St Helens hit back and took control of the game with two quick-fire tries from Matt Gidley and Leon Pryce.

Youngster Kyle Eastmond sealed the win for St Helens when he coolly slotted over a last minute drop goal.
