Girdler sent to have shoulder scan

Penrith five-eighth and front-line goal kicker Ryan Girdler will today have an M-R-I scan on his injured right shoulder. Girdler suffered the injury after an attempted tackle went wrong during his club's 24-20 loss to Brisbane at Penrith Stadium yesterday.

A Penrith spokesman says the club will know more later today. Girdler was making his 200th first grade appearance against the Broncos, after also representing New South Wales and Australian at centre.

A likely replacement for the man affectionately known as "Skunk" will be the fleet-footed Preston Campbell, who played on the wing at the weekend.
