Injury sees season end for Martin

Warriors centre Tony Martin's season is over after he underwent fusion surgery on a bulging disc in his neck.

The 26-year-old Australian left the field complaining of discomfort in his neck and shoulder area just before half-time during the Warriors second-round win over Brisbane in March.

Martin initially thought he might be able to return to the field this season but after a series of scans and consultations, surgery was finally settled on.

He says it'll be six months before he can start training again but the medical opinion is that he'll be able to continue playing.
