Joeys back

Andrew Johns is about to play his first rugby league game in 11 months after being named in the Newcastle Knights side for Saturday night's NRL trial against Cronulla at Gosford Stadium.

Johns will captain an 18-man squad which also includes former Test centre Matthew Gidley.

Eight of the 12 players fined over an incident in Bathurst at the weekend - Kurt Gidley, Mark Hughes, Matt Kennedy, Todd Lowrie, Luke Quigley, Kirk Reynoldson, Reegan Tanner and Adam Woolnough - were also included in the squad.

Johns has been out of action since injuring his knee last March.
