Kearns to retire

Melbourne Storm captain Robbie Kearns has announced he will retire at the end of the current NRL season. Kearns' decision to call it a day means that Scott Hill and Matt Geyer will be the only two Storm players still at the club in 2006 that were for the inaugural season in 1998.

Kearns will stay on at the Storm for at least the next three years, in a coaching and ambassadorial role. The 34-year-old prop also played with Cronulla and the now defunct Western Reds but played the majority of his first grade career in Melbourne.

He also represented NSW and Australia with distinction.
