The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Des Hasler part ways, effectively immediately.

NSW look to be on a hiding to nothing in this years State of Origin series with a number of questionable selections starting to appear. Players such as Kearns, Timmins, Gidley, Ricketson and Fletcher are all touted as certainties for the Blues side. What a joke! There has been speculation Jamie Lyon will be on the wing. What a waste. QLD will eat that side for lunch. All those players have no guts and no heart. Timmins can barely walk after a club game so how is he expected to handle State of Origin? He is too slow for that level and a lot of players in line for selection are badly out of form. The old boys club is alive and well it seems. We saw what Brisbane did to Newcastle last week and they will play exactly the same style in Origin with the remainder of the players coming from the Bulldogs, who are proving to be the most physical side in the league. Gould and his cronies will pick players they like and not ones who deserve to be there as has always been the case. NSW are a joke and deserve to lose. Gould or no Gould, a whitewash is on the cards. Until the best players are selected, NSW will never be considered a genuine threat.
