Parra thrash Souths

The Parramatta Eels have completely outclassed the Souths Sydney Rabbitohs by 54-0 at Parramatta Stadium tonight.

With Brad Drew playing at half back, the Eels carved through the Rabbitohs who now look certain to inherit this year's wooden spoon.

But the win has come at a cost with Daniel Irvine assisted from the field in the 25th minute with a suspected broken ankle and fullback Brett Hodgson dislocating his shoulder in the 55th minute.

Parramatta opened the scoring after 15 minutes with a try to Luke Burt. The flood gates opened soonafter and at half time it was 22-0.

With Nathan Hindmarsh leading from the front, Ben Kusto and Brad Drew directed play against an often woeful South Sydney defence.

The victory is a timely one for the Eels who were in danger of losing a top eight position.
