Test utility Shaun Berrigan will undergo surgery in Brisbane tonight to repair facial fractures that have ended his NRL season and glittering Broncos career.
Berrigan suffered fractures to his cheekbone and eye socket in a fifth minute tackle on Manly winger Chris Hicks that went horribly wrong in the Broncos' 21-8 loss at Suncorp Stadium yesterday.
Berrigan will leave Brisbane to link with English Super League club Hull next season.
Meanwhile, lock Tonie Carroll is in doubt for Brisbane's clash with Melbourne on Sunday while prop Ben Hannant will undergo rehabilitation for two weeks before medical staff determine whether he needs surgery - both players have shoulder injuries.
