Red Tape Prevents Kiwi Fan Influx

The Warriors Get The Fans On A Jumbo promotion is off.

Sydney press has been reporting that the Warriors and major sponsors Vodafone were set to charter three 747 aircraft to take fans over to the Warriors-Canberra NRL play-off game on Saturday at no cost to the fan.

However Vodafone sponsorship manager Lynley Kirk-Smith says it has been cancelled due to Sydney customs and airport regulations.

Customs and Sydney Airport officials will not allow the jet to fly in and out of Sydney in one day.

Kirk-Smith says the plan was to charter the jumbo,s for the game, and they might look at doing it next week or the Grand Final, if the Warriors win through.

Warriors CEO Mick Watson says it is frustrating and disappointing.

Watson says luckily all is not lost for Sydney based fans, with Vodafone and team owner Eric Watson buying 10 thousand tickets to give away to New Zealand passport holders living in Aussie.
