Roosters grind out hard fought win over

The Sydney Roosters have beaten the Melbourne Storm 27-20 in a hard fought contest at Olympic Park this afternoon. The Storm led the Roosters 12-8 at the halftime break but tries to Craig Fitzgibbon and Craig Wing ensured the Roosters would not be denied.

The Roosters last visit to Olympic Park resulted in a 48-12 thrashing and the Storm looked the goods early on but were outclassed by the Roosters down the stretch. The Storm did not play badly and were in the contest until the death with a late Brad Fittler field goal putting the issue beyond doubt.

Matt Orford was again Melbourne?s best player while for the Roosters, Fitzgibbon and Wing were again the stars.
