Sharks announce Heighington and Ryan signings

Sharks officially announce two new signings

The Sharks announce and confirm the signings of Beau Ryan and Chris Heighington with the pair to join the club on three-year deals beginning in 2013.

The addition of the two former Tigers, along with the previous acquisitions of Luke Lewis, Michael Gordon and Jonathan Wright, further strengthens a Sharks side which qualified for the finals series in 2012 for the first time in four years.

Ryan, a member of the Prime Ministers XIII team which played against Papua New Guinea recently, enjoyed an outstanding season in 2012 while playing in a variety of backline positions.

As for Heighington, a 200-game player for the Tigers and a British International, he will add experience and depth to the already imposing Sharks forward pack.

Understandably Sharks coach Shane Flanagan was excited about the pair joining the club and was looking forward to working with them in 2013.
