Souths Juniors Defeat Orange in
Premier League

Souths Juniors Premier League Team commenced their 2005 campaign last Saturday 5th February 2005 where they took on Orange CYMS.

The Mark Ellison coached team left early Saturday morning, in preparation for the match to be played later that evening at Wade Park, Orange.

The Souths Juniors Team had a few players with first grade experience including Willie Peters, Glenn Hall, Dale Newton, Matt Riddle and Brian Seimsen. This however did not phase the Orange team who impressed the big local crowd on hand as well as their coach and former South Sydney first grader Michael Ostini in the opening exchanges of the match.

Souths Juniors took a big lead into the half time break leading by 52 points to nil. It was a credit to the Orange team who did not give up at any stage and this was indicated by the second half score line of Souths Juniors 30 - 4.

Special mention must be made to Matt Riddle who scored an incredible six tries and kicked 13 conversions for a personal tally of 50 points. This weekend sees the Premier League team travel to Bundaberg where they take on the Toowoomba Clydesdales/Brisbane Broncos who will feature players with first grade experience including Brett Seymour, Brad Myers and Mick Ryan.
