Premier review and results

Hillcrest Hornets ground out a tough 26-20 victory over Pikiao in absymal conditions at Resthills Park in local premier rugby league action on Saturday. Down 14-4 at the break the Hornets showed character building play to push for the win.

Outstanding for the Hornets were prop forward Billy Puku Grey and captain Mark Simon who led the defence effort.

Taniwharau secured their second win of the season with an emphatic 72-18 win over Forestland at Davies Park.

Hukanui went down to Ngongotaha 26-16 in Rotorua where at the same venue Ngaruawahia continued on their winning start to the season with a 20-10 victory vover Central.

In a tight game at Tokoroa the home side Pacific sneaked home 16-12 over a courageous Huntly South.

Turangawaewae who had the bye this weekend still head the table along with Taupom Phoenix and Pacific.
