There are now serious murmurs about premiership number 22 around the traps at Redfern and it's easy to see why. Did the job on an in-form Cronulla and did it well.
Last week: 1st
Superb performance against the bye. OK in all seriousness - they only slide on the back of Souths' amazing form. A win over Canberra on Friday should keep them top of the table.
Last week: 4th
Had the bye but remain equal top with the Panthers. The Canterbury match next Monday is absolutely crucial for this mob and will tell us a lot about their top four prospects.
Last week: 3rd
Played with a bit-part backline after losing Holmes and Dugan, but really struggled against a well-drilled Rabbitohs side. Still have some questions on their ability to beat the big boys.
Last week: 5th
The bye is the perfect chance for this mob to regroup. Will benefit from having Cameron Smith back before Origin III but need to win a few before then to be serious top four contenders after an indifferent first half of 2018.
Last week: 6th
Did what they had to in order to beat the Wests Tigers on Sunday without a host of stars. Still impossible to get a read on this team.
Last week: 7th
Earn a ladder boost from bye points but will need to work hard to maintain that advantage. Looked ordinary last week against Souths and need a good win over Manly in Christchurch to reassure fans they're a threat this year. Need Johnson back, too.
Last week: 8th
The bye comes at a good time for them and on the back of the Tigers' loss they jump into the eight on the NRL ladder. HUGE clash with Melbourne this weekend.
Last week: 9th
Struggled in attack yet again. Is it time to bench Benji and start Reynolds in the halves? Cronulla will be a huge test.
Last week: 11th
Back on course in some respects with a solid victory over the listless Eels. Roosters won't be as easy to get past.
Last week: 10th
Slide a spot on account of the bye and Newcastle's win. Clash with Penrith on Friday shapes as season-defining.
Last week: 14th
Despite missing a host of Origin players, took the points from Manly at Brookvale and looked good in doing so. Should pick up two more points in Darwin against the Eels on Saturday.
Last week: 12th
Struggled without the Trbojevic brothers last Thursday big time, and will be hoping both come through Origin unscathed ahead of Saturday's trip to Christchurch.
Last week: 13th
Had the bye and slid down the ladder with the Cowboys picking up victory. Will rate their chances against an out-of-form Dragons side next Monday.
Last week: 15th
Also had the bye. Not expecting much from them against the Bunnies but they have surprised the comp on a few occasions this season.
Last week: 16th
News on Monday the club will be expediting a review of the football department comes as welcome to fans after a big loss to Newcastle. If there was a position 17 you'd be tempted to give it to this mob at the moment.
