Roosters cruise to victory over Bulldogs

The Sydney Roosters have ended their three-game losing streak with a comfortable 38-12 victory over the last placed Bulldogs at the SCG today.

The Roosters opened the scoring inside the first ten minutes when a cross kick from Cooper Cronk was taken by Joeseph Manu before getting a great ball away to Latrell Mitchell, who sneaks down the sideline to score in the corner. Mitchell was unable to convert from touch.

Five minutes later Mitchell kicked a penalty goal.

In the 25th minute the Roosters crossed again when Manu, on the right side, got around his defender and then forced his way to the line despite two defenders, just getting the ball down on the stripe. Mitchell was again unable to convert from out wide.

Almost 4 minutes later, the Premiers were in again. Sitili Tupouniua runs onto a good ball from Nat Butcher and barges over to score on the right side despite 3 defenders trying to halt him. Mitchell converts.

In the 33rd minute, The Bulldogs get a try out of nowhere. A kick on the last to the left side is regathered, they put it through the hands, Keiran Foran held up a pass for William Hopoate, who threw a dummy and squeezed over through the defenders to score in the right corner. Nick Meaney converted.

The Roosters came out in the second half and opened the scoring. Cronk kicked on the last and Daniel Tupou caught it cleanly, flicked a pass out the back to Drew Hutchison, who took to the line, reached out in the tackle and just got the ball down for a try. Mitchell converted.

In the 56th minute Mitchell kicked a penalty goal.

In the 65th minute, the Roosters lifted to another level to take the game away from the Bulldogs. They shifted the ball left where Manu dummied and then passed to Mitchell who gets through the tackle by Meaney to score. His conversion attempt from out wide hits the upright.

In the 71st minute Isaac Liu ran onto a crash ball and barged over for a good try near the sticks. Mitchell converted from almost in front.

In the 75th minute they crossed again. Manu drifted left, took on the line and forced his way over for a strong try. Mitchell was unable to convert.

The match ended with the Bulldogs adding to their total. Raymond Faitala-Mariner was awarded a penalty try, when he was chasing through a grubber and got held off the ball by two Roosters players. Meaney converted from in front.
