Rugby league will return bigger and better

The NRL is Australia's primary Rugby League competition with 16 teams taking part to see who will be crowned champions. It combines teams from both Australia and New Zealand in what is always an ultra-competitive Championship.

The current season had literally just started before it had to be put on hold due to COVID19, however, the current standings at this stage show that Parramatta Eels have begun superbly well winning both their matches scoring 54 points and only conceding 8.

There are five other teams who have also started the campaign with a 100% record and these include Newcastle Knights, Canberra Raiders, Melbourne Storm, Brisbane Broncos and Penrith Panthers.

At this very early stage, there isn't much to read into this season, however, from the early start, it does promise to be a really exciting campaign once the season can continue again.

Sydney Roosters are the current Premiership champions having won back to back titles in 2018 and 2019 and will be looking for the hat-trick later this year. However, they have slumped to 2 defeats in a row so will need to get back to winning ways once the season is able to continue.

The team that many feel can lift the trophy this year are Melbourne Storm who have been runners up 2 of the last 4 years and hoping this year can be their year to lift the trophy.

Super League - United Kingdom:

The Super League is the number 1 competition in the UK for Rugby League. There are currently 12 teams in the League and they come from England, plus one team from France and another from Canada. The two teams from outside the UK are Catalan Dragons who play in Perpignan and Toronto Wolfpack.

This current Super League season was six weeks old when it was stopped and it's Wigan Warriors who top the table winning five matches and losing one. They have started strongly, however, haven't faced any of their top rivals for the Championship in St Helens or Leeds Rhinos, but they are playing a good brand of rugby.

Current Super League holders and favourites to win the title again St Helens have played five matches so far this season winning three and losing two of them. They were shocked by Warrington who won 19-0 in week 2 of the season and then in week 6 St Helens suffered a narrow home defeat to Huddersfield 10-12.

The team at the foot of the table are the Toronto Wildcats who have lost all their six games so far and they are finding the Super League very tough as they have got beat quite heavily in most of their matches so far this season. In week 6 they lost 66-12 away at Leeds Rhinos and then in week 5 St Helens beat then 32-0.

The season is very early on but it promises to be another fantastic and competitive Super League season as St Helens, Wigan, Warrington and Leeds Rhinos will be looking to have a strong season and finish as high as possible to ensure they reach the Grand Final.

Super League - UK Tips

The bookies are still taking bets in other sports, and SBR provides a list of where is safe to place your bets and when looking at Super League in the UK then Wigan have started well and can maintain their good record to finish as the regular-season winner. At odds of 7/2 (4.5) they currently rate as 2^nd favourites but have a good squad who are ready to fight all the way to win the title.

At the other end of the table, Toronto Wildcats have really struggled to get used to life in Super League and after a few big defeats, they are likely to finish bottom. They can be backed at 11/8 (2.38) and this seems a decent wager. The favourites to finish bottom are Hull KR who do have one win this year, but may struggle to move high up the table:
