Gold Coast Titans v Warriors

Gold Coast Titans thumped New Zealand Warriors 66-6 at Robina Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

It was a game where the die was cast early but the Titans ran rampant with wonderful performances from Kieran Foran, Jayden Campbell and Keano Kini in the spine while Alofiana Khan-Pereira starred with four tries against a woeful Warriors outfit.

The Titans struck first in the sun on the coast. It was a wonderful cut-out pass which found Alofiana Khan-Pereira right on the chest and strolled over to make it 6-0.

The hosts continued to surge forward and look for points. Another well timed pass, this time from Kieran Foran, found a rampaging Beau Fermor who went over untouched.

It was all one-way traffic in the first half. Issac Liu rumbled downfield to set up the Titans then hooker Chad Randall shook off a feeble tackle attempt to get the four-pointer.

Gold Coast had no mercy in this dojo on a warm afternoon where there was a sold out crowd. Jayden Campbell stepped past a few defenders then offloaded for Keenan Palasia to plunge over.

Sam Verrills put the icing on a dominant first half from the titans late on. Keano Kini sliced through again and positioned the utility to stroll away and make it 30-0 at the break.

The Warriors started the second half with a flurry of possession but one loose pass from Shaun Johnson saw Khan-Pereira take the intercept and just jog the distance to get his second.

Things went from bad to worse for the Warriors when Roger Tuivasa-Sheck was binned for a dangerous tackle then Titans fullback Kini just sliced through to put the hosts past 40.

Foran was turning back the clock in this game. He produced a gorgeous kick which had a room service bounce for Campbell who picked up a four-pointer himself in the rout.

Warriors finally got on the board on the hour mark of the game. Shaun Johnson combined with Tohu Harris who offloaded for Te Maire Martin who scored then Adam Pompey converted for 48-6.

That was only a quick respite for the woeful Warriors. Campbell turned provider this time, he punched a kick low and Khan-Pereira who picked up his first hat-trick in the NRL.

Titans who have been on the other end of these thrashings often, were ruthless in attack. Foran with an superb inside ball sent Kini away and the fullback for his second four-pointer.

Khan-Pereira made it a four-try haul to finish off an afternoon the Titans fans won't forget at home. Quick hands put Brian Kelly away then he finds the speedster who finishes it off.
